📝 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐞:
Join Umeå University's Department of Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics, home to a Nobel Prize-winning researcher (CRISPR-Cas9). You'll work on saturation problems in extremal and probabilistic combinatorics, specifically:
• Hypergraph weak saturation and improved problem-solving approaches.
• Poset saturation and non-induced saturation conjectures.
• Methods combining extremal combinatorics, set theory & probabilistic approaches.
𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐫: Dr. Maryam Sharifzadeh.
Research Group: Discrete Mathematics-10 faculty members covering modern combinatorics.
✅ 𝐄𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬:
• Master's degree (or 60 ECTS at second-cycle level, minimum 15 in mathematics).
• Strong pure mathematics background (combinatorics, graph theory required).
• Basic probability theory knowledge.
• Fluent English (written & verbal).
• Independent + collaborative work capability.
